this is my little brother Joey. this kid is literally my life. he gives no fucks that he’s bald and he’s the strongest person i know. he has to get about 5 shots in his head every 3 months and has to take pills every day in hopes of his hair to grow back. i think one of the side effects of one of his medications is depression and suicidal thoughts…the other day he was crying totally random saying he wanted to die and he was sick of taking so many pills and getting shots in his head. whenever we go out in public people think he has cancer and sometimes we get discounts/free things, which really actually bothers us. i want to make a club at my school called Alopecia Awareness with the slogan Not a Cause, Not a Cure, NOT Cancer. there is no particular cause for alopecia although stress may cause it sometimes. there is no cure for it. also JUST because you see someone that’s bald doesn’t mean they have cancer. everyone knows all about cancer, but alopecia is put to the side. it’s a disease that people should also get familiar with and that’s why i wanna raise awareness.
